Tintin au fil de l’actualité

Il ne suffit pas de faire de la bande dessinée d’aventure au long cours pour emporter l’adhésion. Et ça, Hergé l’a bien compris. Dans toute son œuvre, le dessinateur n’aura de cesse de parler de son époque.

S’il fait voyager Tintin dans l’espace-temps, Georges Remi offre aussi à son reporter un cadre unique, celui de la réalité. Pendant quelques temps inexactes, imprécises et imaginaires, les aventures de Tintin se sont, au fil du temps, précisées pour n’être plus que le reflet même de l’époque de son auteur.

Hergé n’a pas hésité à se documenter, à piocher dans le passé et le présent des faits réels qu’il a transposé à sa façon afin de créer ses histoires. Parfois insoutenables, les faits historiques choisi s’intègrent à la perfection à la trame désirée. Et si Tintin se veut ancré dans son temps, le créateur du reporter à la houppette se révèle parfois visionnaire dans les faits évoqués…

Les personnages des aventures de Tintin

Georges Rémi, dit Hergé, est un auteur majeur dans l’univers de la bande-dessinée au 20e siècle. Si l’homme est devenu célèbre grâce aux aventures de son personnage fétiche « Tintin », c’est aussi grâce à une panoplie de personnages, 228 au total, eux aussi très attachants. Ils font partie intégrante des 24 albums de Tintin, mais aussi partie, pour beaucoup, de de la vie-même d’Hergé. Tournesol, le petit frère d’Auguste Piccard ?

Pour créer Tournesol, Hergé avait un modèle très précis en tête : Auguste Piccard, un éminent savant suisse. Le professeur Tournesol apparaît pour la première fois dans les aventures de Tintin en 1944 avec la publication du Trésor de Rackham le Rouge. Il présente tous les caractères du scientifique décidé à faire prévaloir ses idées : une assurance sans faille, une obstination sans limites et une pointe d’irritabilité.

Florence Fosther Jenkin’s : la Castafiore qui chante faux !

Elle est diverse et plurielle cette Castafiore, comme ses inspirations. Dans les années 1950 Hergé trouve son modèle dans les journaux et les magazines d’actualités comme Paris-Match, en la personne de Maria Callas, forcément ! Les revues rapportent les moindres faits de la carrière professionnelle comme de la vie privée de Maria. Il s’en inspire. Mais Hergé ne perd pas non plus de vue la célèbre Castafiore Florence Fosther Jenkin’s, rendue célèbre par son caractère exubérant et sa voix on ne peut plus fausse. Certains analystes associent aussi ce personnage de la Castafiore exubérante et amoureuse à la première femme d’Herge : Germaine Kieckens.

Un Milou plus vrai que nature !

Milou est d’une race de chien qui existe… Mais qu’on ne peut pas associer un chien de cette race en particulier à la vie d’Hergé. Oui Georges Rémi a eu des Fox à poils dur dans son entourage, mais rien de plus. Toutefois, pour son maître, Milou est un véritable interlocuteur, un ami, un confident, il converse avec lui. Non qu’il soit un chien parlant, Milou est le plus ordinaire, le plus canin des chiens. Mais il se place aussi comme la bonne étoile et le compagnon de toujours de Tintin.

Un Capitaine Haddock sur le Titanic !

Comme Tintin est l’archétype du reporter, Haddock est celui du marin. Notre homme est même capitaine au long cours. Bien qu’à ses débuts il fit plutôt figure d’épave… Étrange quand on sait qu’un capitaine…Un certain Haddock… Était sur le Titanic : l’épave la plus célèbre de son temps. C’est une des possibilité de son existence, de son inspiration dans le réel !

Affublé des habits d’un noblion parvenu, il restera toujours le vieux loup de mer qu’on adore. En bref, un officier et un gentleman…

Dupont & Dupond / Alexis et Léon

Le père de Hergé, Alexis Remi, avait un frère jumeau, Léon Remi. De vrais jumeaux : tous deux portaient la moustache et s’habillaient de manière identique. À chaque sortie, ils ne manquaient pas de porter un canotier ou un chapeau melon. Sans oublier une canne ou un parapluie ! Si Alexis et Léon Remi étaient frères, les Dupondt ne le sont pas. L’un s’appelle Dupond ; l’autre, Dupont. S’ils étaient frères, leurs noms s’orthographieraient de manière identique. Jumeaux ? Non. Sosies incontestables et incontestés, oui !

Tintin en expédition !

Quand on évoque Les Aventures de Tintin et les destinations du reporter, on pense bien sûr à Tintin dans la lune. C’est une des expéditions les plus précurseuses qu’Hergé a fait faire à son héros ; avant même que l’Homme lui-même ne s’y aventure.Mais lorsque on s’intéresse de plus près aux destinations parcourues, on remarque que la réalité n’est jamais bien loin de la fiction. Peu de lieux sont tirés de l’imaginaire d’Hergé. Avec des moyens de transports précurseurs, Tintin a quadrillé le monde. Pas un continent ne lui échappe. Et si certains noms de lieux sont, pour l’ouvrage, modifiés nous pouvons exactement les identifier sur une carte. Ce que nous avons fait.Les têtes de Tintin sont des expéditions dans des lieux précis, mais au nom modifié, inventé, par Hergé. Tous les autres points bleus sont de véritables villes ou ports qui ont accueilli une aventure de Tintin !

Tintin consommateur de kilomètres par tous les moyens de transport

Si Hergé a donné à Tintin de nombreux moyens de locomotions pour traverser les pays, c’est la plupart du temps sur les quais d’une gare ou dans un train que les aventures du reporter débutent. Symboles d’échanges et portes d’accès d’un pays, les gares, ports et aérogares représentent aussi les seuils d’entrée et de sorties des albums d’Hergé. Du simple vélo, à la fusée, en passant par la voiture et l’avion, tous les transports sont utilisés par le reporter à la houppette, parfois avant même que l’homme ait pu s’en servir en premier. Et si cette fascination se retrouve souvent dans l’œuvre d’Hergé, c’est parce qu’elle a commencé à l’envahir dès son plus jeune âge. Son premier dessin connu : un train passe devant une automobile à l’arrêt, sous les yeux d’un garde barrière.
